ESP Institiute Center Policy
School Terms
ESP Institute Center has two terms: Fall and Spring. Each segment will
last approximately 6 weeks in real world time and both terms will equal one
full school year in-game time. During the school year, EIC will be open to
all students.
Temporary School Schedule for 2011:
Fall Term I- Dates TBA
BREAK: Winter*
Spring Term II- Dates TBA
BREAK: Summer*
*Some people have final exams in real-life around this time of the year, hence
the Break periods may be extended if need.
Term Breaks
During the term breaks, EIC will be closed. Academy Avenue will remain open all-year, though.
Classes
As a student, you have a choice of what classes to take. You do not have to
take every class or you can choose to take all of them. The number and quality of
posts in each class will determine the psionic rating in your chosen abilities.
We will never assume you are taking a class the next yearly session, so be sure to
remember to sign up!
OOC: Even though students are expected to take classes, these won’t be the only determining
factor in deciding on who will advance to the next year.
Psionic Rating
This is simply the rating of how powerful each of your esper abilities are. Increasing the rating comes from the high number and grand quality of the posts in each of the classes that pertain to that ability, the number of battles won against other espers using that ability, and the number of experimental points accumulated from cooperative research with scientists into that ability. Decreasing the rating comes from the low number and poor quality of the posts in each of the classes that pertain to that ability and the number of battles lost against other espers.
Graduation
At the end of each term, students are eligible for graduation. During the break
before the next term, the staff will check each student to make sure they have
met the required post number. If the student has, we will move them on to
the next year. If a student hasn't, they will have to repeat the year they are
in.
Do note that posts in the questions, concerns, and comments will be excluded from the overall count. Also, exceeding the number of posts doesn't mean that you'll be skipping class years. For example, you need 25 posts to move to second year but you somehow have 100 posts overall. Technically, that would have qualified you to jump from first year to fourth year but that won't be happening. However, that doesn't mean we'll simply disregard them either. You'll have a choice in choosing to save those posts in reserve in case you're absent for a long time so that you can later cash in to automatically move up on your return.

-Have at least 25 posts overall
Second Year to Third Year
-Have at least 50 posts overall
